Orbital Debris Shelter-In-Place: The ISS team has been notified of a satellite breakup that may create sufficient debris to pose a conjunction threat to the ISS. As part of the nominal procedure for ISS conjunctions, this morning the crew closed all hatches and both Dragon and Soyuz crews sheltered in their respective vehicles. Out of caution for crew safety, all radial hatches will remain closed until ground teams have determined there is no longer a conjunction threat to the ISS. This has impacted several of today’s activities.

Crew-3 Launch/Dock: On Wednesday, November 10th at 8:03 PM CST, the Crew-3 Dragon Endurance lifted off from Launch Pad 39A at Kennedy Space Center. Endurance then completed a 21-hour rendezvous and successfully docked to the ISS on Thursday, November 11th at 5:33 PM CST. The hatch to Dragon Endurance was opened at 7:25 PM and the 65S crew welcomed crewmembers Raja Chari (FE-10), Thomas Marshburn (FE-11), Kayla Barron (FE-12), and Matthias Maurer (FE-13) aboard. Crew compliment aboard the ISS has officially risen to 7.

Running more than 30 minutes ahead of schedule, the SpaceX Crew-3 astronauts docked to the International Space Station at 6:32 p.m. EST Thursday, Nov. 11, less than 24 hours after launching from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. NASA astronauts Raja Chari, Tom Marshburn, Kayla Barron, and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Matthias Maurer opened the hatch of their Crew Dragon spacecraft Endurance at 8:25 p.m. and participated in a welcome ceremony with their new Expedition 66 crewmates at 9 p.m.

NASA astronauts Raja Chari, Tom Marshburn, Kayla Barron, and ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer arrived at the International Space Station at 6:32 p.m. EST Thursday, Nov. 11. Crew Dragon Endurance docked to the orbital complex while the spacecrafts were flying 260 miles above the eastern Caribbean Sea.
